The Town Hall is the political centre of power in Berne since nearly 600 years. This is the third Town Hall, built between 1406 to 1415 in the late gothic style. It was used already in 1414. The two Council chambers in the upper floors, the grand one and the small one are still used for the meetings of the City council and the Government of the Kanton of Berne.
You will be welcomed to Berne in the Entrance Hall of this interesting building in the ground floor where we will have our reception. This room has been used as a garner in former times. The gothic ceiling of this huge room is held by four mighty pillars.

Already twenty films have been produced in the James Bond 007 adventure series, but remaining one of the most memorable sequences of the famous spy series is the assault on the snow capped alps peak fortress of villain Ernst Stavros Blofeld in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The film was shot on location at Schilthorn in the Jungfrau region of central Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland in 1967. The incredible views of the mighty Alps still attract mountain lovers to this mountain top restaurant and viewing platform ever since. The cable car aerial lift to the planned Schiltorn restaurant had run out of money when the Bond film was being planned. The Broccoli & Saltzman film company agreed to finance the completion of the cable tramway in exchange for exclusive filming.
