Call for Abstracts for Oral & Poster Presentations
On behalf of the Organising Committee you are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the International Congress on Academic Pediatric Nursing. This Congress will take place at the Congress and Culture Centre Allegro, Berne, Switzerland from 3rd and 4th June 2010.
Presentations of Master and Bachelor studies are welcome.
Call for Abstracts extended to the 15th of March 2010.
Following a review, the outcome of your abstract will be advised by the reviewing committee.
Notice on abstract acceptance will be given the latest on March 30th.
Themes
The Organising Committee has developed a number of themes that will be addressed throughout the Congress. These include:
The Organising Committee also welcomes abstracts that may not fall within the set sub-themes above and more than one sub theme can be addressed.
*Note: The presentations handed in with the theme pain and pain management could be chosen to be presented in the interdisciplinary session on Friday, 4th of June with a larger audience. The length of the presentation would then be restricted to 8 Min.

Abstracts must be submitted online. Abstracts are to be submitted as PDF or Word Document.

Guidelines
All presenting authors must register and pay to attend the Congress at the discounted presenter rate. Submission of abstracts implies the author’s agreement to publish the abstract in all Congress publications including the web site. Successful abstracts must be presented by the author/s or a nominated co-author.
Acceptance of abstracts does not imply any payment from the Congress Committee. Authors must arrange and pay their own accommodation, travel etc. to attend the Congress.
Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Congress Program Committee whose decision is final.
Oral presentation and oral Poster presentation
When using slides, please note that only PowerPoint Slides are possible.
Hand in your PowerPoint Presentation on CD-ROM or compact USB-Drive (USB-Stick) 1.0/2.0 30 Min. before the sessions start in the morning or afternoon at the service centre.
A technician will incorporate your presentation on the computer that is used for the presentation.
PowerPoint versions accepted are PowerPoint MS Office 2000, 2003 and 2007. Do not use files linked with other files. Linked files will not show up in your presentation!
Accepted picture format:
All popular Windows picture files also html.
Accepted Fonts are Windows Fonts. For normal projection, the Font size .24 is sufficiant.
Poster with and without presentation
Poster walks
You have the possibility to present your poster at a poster walk, with a oral presentation (max. 5 slides) or only hanging it up.
At the poster walk, you will be induced by the chairmen of your poster. There you can present your poster in max. 3 min. The audience will be standing around your poster and in the discussion you are supposed to answer questions regarding your work. 4-6 posters will be discussed during the lunch break.
With an oral presentation you can present your poster in a separate room and explain your study with a few PowerPoint slides.
A timetable with all the presentation times will be handed to you when you hand in your poster.
Poster boards and pushpins will be available.
Please bring your poster to the service center and collect it from there after the congress.
